As Narayani Namastute steps into its 8th glorious season of the Global Durga Puja Excellence Awards, we are proud to present a redefined award structure that truly reflects the cultural depth, national spread, and global pride of Durga Puja.

From Season 8 onwards, the Shera “Category” Awards will be recognized across three prestigious chapters, each standing tall with equal honor:

Bengal Excellence
(National Heritage Chapter)

Honoring the cultural heartland of Durga Puja, Bengal — the epicenter where tradition, artistry, and devotion converge. This chapter celebrates the benchmark of creativity and heritage that inspires the entire nation.

National Excellence
(Beyond Bengal Chapter)

Celebrating the spirit of Durga Puja across India, outside Bengal. This chapter recognizes the communities who have carried Bengal’s tradition beyond its borders, nurturing innovation, inclusivity, and cultural pride in every corner of the nation.

Global Excellence
(Overseas Chapter)

Honoring the international communities who embody the spirit of Durga Puja worldwide. As cultural ambassadors, they uphold and share India’s intangible heritage on the global stage, uniting the diaspora with devotion and creativity.

Rules & Regulation: Judgement Criteria

Participating Puja Committees will be evaluated based on the following parameters:

Entry & Exit Demarcation – Clear, safe, and accessible pathways for smooth visitor movement.
Official Banner Placement – Proper and prominent display of the Narayani Namastute official banner at the venue.
Accessibility for the Physically Challenged – Special arrangements ensuring barrier-free access.
Prohibition of Plastics & Thermocol – Strict compliance with eco-friendly material usage.
Theme with a Social Message – Inclusion of a meaningful social cause in this year’s theme (if applicable).
Environment-Friendly Initiatives – Sustainable practices in construction and decoration.
First Aid Facilities – A dedicated counter equipped for medical emergencies, including arrangements for the specially abled.
Fire Safety Measures – Availability of fire extinguishers and trained personnel on-site.
Hospitality & Crowd Management – Warm reception and effective crowd control.
Drinking Water Facility – Hygienic and sufficient provision for visitors.
Separate Sanitation Facilities – Clean and accessible toilets/washrooms for men and women.
Plastic-Free Pandal & Structures – Total prohibition of single-use plastics in construction or decoration.
Safe Electrical Practices – Proper installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and lighting.
Online Popularity Award – The Puja Committee receiving the maximum verified “LIKES” on the official Narayani Namastute Facebook Page & Group will receive a Special Recognition Award.
